SEED: Securing Women’s Economic Empowerment for Recovery and Development

Ukraine
December 2019
June 2025

During this 5.5 years project, Acted and IMPACT Initiatives aim to promote economic security, employment opportunities and economic empowerment for women, girls and the most vulnerable and marginalized people in Ukraine.

Originally started in Donetska and Luhanska oblasts, the project was reprogrammed and expanded to Chernivetska, Volynska, Chernihivska, Vinnytska, Odeska and Mykolaivska oblasts.

Through livelihoods and business grants, IT scholarships, local economic opportunity assessments, capacity building of labour centers and civil society organizations, an interactive high school STEM campaign, and support to the opening of Business Advisory Centers and daycare centers, the project aims to directly benefit an estimated 179,000 conflict-affected people, with at least 65% women and girls.
