Enhance Drought Emergency Response for Food and Nutrition Security (E- DERF)

Under this 12-month project aiming to sustainably improve the food and nutritional security of vulnerable pastoral and agro-pastoral individuals affected by the drought emergency, Acted will adopt a multi-sectoral approach in Samburu County to enable 42,070 direct beneficiaries to meet their agriculture, food security, and WASH needs. Activities under the agriculture sector include livestock feed distribution and support to livestock destocking for the benefit of 550 households; activities under the food assistance sector include the provision of unconditional cash assistance for the benefit of 3,295 households; and WASH activities include hygiene promotion, distribution of WASH NFIs, and water supply (borehole repairs) for the benefit of 3000 households and 1,000 schoolgirls.
