Capacity-Building of Civil-Society Organisations for Better Conservation in Uzbekistan

This 18-month project aims to strengthen the operational capacities of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) as well as to improve their technical and practical knowledge to effectively engage themselves and communities in promoting environmental protection actions. In addition, the project aims to improve dialogue and cooperation between CSOs, communities and government agencies responsible for the implementation of national biodiversity strategies in order to better promote conservation actions. Through these actions, the capacity of civil society will be strengthened, which will contribute to effective conservation action in Uzbekistan. The project will be implemented in Tashkent region and city and will benefit 5 CSOs, in particular 15 CSO members in addition to communities rural women, teachers, youth and Mahalla representatives (in total about 100 people) who will benefit from CSO-led workshops on biodiversity protection.
