Emergency relief and long-term reconstruction support for flood affected people in north-eastern Libya

Libya Sustainable Infrastructure
October 2024
February 2025

Acted will repair two drinking water supply infrastructures in north-east Libya to support access to drinking water for people affected by the floods of September 11, 2024. It is estimated that at least 500 people will benefit from each infrastructure rehabilitated, in line with SPHERE standards, although the total number of beneficiaries be confirmed at the end of the intervention. SICASIL's support will therefore provide drinking water to 1,000 beneficiaries. Acted will ensure that all actions undertaken are respectful of the environment, by environmental risks associated with rehabilitation work. This includes rigorous management of water consumption during rehabilitation to protect local springs, the soil and water quality, and the protection of local ecosystems.
