For the past 30 years, Acted has been working at the forefront of humanitarian action to save lives. Acted supports more than 27 million people in 43 countries, meeting their needs in hard-to-reach areas, while pursuing a triple mandate as a humanitarian, environmental, and development actor. Acted relies on a deep understanding of local contexts to develop and implement long-term actions, in collaboration with a wide range of local and international partners, to collectively build a 3ZERO world: Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon and Zero Poverty.
Libya has endured over a decade of conflict, governance challenges, and environmental strain, leaving communities vulnerable and infrastructure underdeveloped. As one of the world’s most arid nations, Libya faces severe water shortages and desertification while remaining a critical transit hub for migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Since 2011, Acted has been on the ground, driving positive change through its four offices in Tripoli, Benghazi, Sebha, and Derna, with additional support from Tunis. Guided by our 3ZERO Strategy—Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, and Zero Poverty—we focus on sustainable solutions that go beyond emergency response.
Our 2023-2025 strategy is built on three pillars:
– Empowering institutions and civil society to strengthen governance and social cohesion.
– Creating inclusive, green economic opportunities to tackle poverty and promote resilience.
– Enhancing basic services and protection for vulnerable communities across Libya.
With a proven track record of over 100 humanitarian and development projects, Acted is committed to making a real difference across Libya. Join us to play a critical role in building a stronger, more resilient future for the country.
The Country Project Coordinator ensures all projects in the country run in a smooth and cost-efficient manner and in compliance with Acted’s and donors’ procedures and legal requirements.
