“Greening personal lives” by promoting “lifestyle changes” and build momentum for systemic change to mitigate climate change.

 

The standard activities under this thematic area include:

  • Promoting scalable climate-smart agricultural production systems and practices that are more resource efficient;
  • Reducing the use of artificial fertilizers in favour of natural manure;
  • Promoting household-level energy conservation and efficiency, for example limiting the use of fossil fuels such as oil, carbon and natural gas and replacing them with renewable and cleaner sources of energy (solar, energy-efficient stoves, etc.);
  • Promotion of household-level water saving systems;
  • Awareness raising on sustainable production and consumption;
  • Training on and facilitation of recycling practices at the household level;
  • Promotion of household-level rainwater harvesting and greywater reuse.
