The initial phase of this THRIVE initiative in Côte d'Ivoire and Kenya focuses on landscape restoration. Awareness-raising sessions will cover the project's objectives, regenerative grazing, partnerships, and the steps needed to move forward. Using a participatory approach, a degraded landscape of at least 5,000 hectares will be identified. Community engagement will be encouraged throughout the project. The second component focuses on livelihood development. ACTED will establish agro-pastoral field schools to support participatory learning and promote climate-adapted agricultural practices and post-harvest handling. The project will provide climate-appropriate agricultural/pastoral inputs and support market linkages through agricultural infrastructure, information sharing, extension services, and financial approaches. Through the third component, ACTED will support peaceful coexistence within agro-pastoral communities and between refugees and host communities through natural resource management. A community-based process will support land use agreements, promoting collaboration and sustainable resource management.
