The €5 million, 3.5-year project financed by the G5 Sahel Facility Foundation aims to contribute to the promotion of peace, conflict prevention and development in the areas of Gao and Ansongo (Mali) by mobilizing communities, local leaders and influential players around infrastructure projects to be built or rehabilitated, while improving employment opportunities through the latter. The total population of these two areas is 329,280. At least 1,000 community members will take part in the dialogue sessions, 240 members of management committees will build their capacity in peaceful infrastructure management, and 100 key players will be involved across the board, while ultimately several thousand beneficiaries (CFW and HIMO workers or users) will benefit from these infrastructures.
