1PLANET4ALL

1Planet4All is a three-year European project with 14 partners in 12 EU member states

The 1P4A project:

1P4A aims to raise awareness among European youth about climate change as a global threat to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and to encourage them to actively engage in concrete climate actions. ACTED implements the project activities in France, alongside its sister organization Convergences.

Launched in February 2020, the 1Planet4All project targets French youth according to three different profiles:

YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 15 TO 25

interested or not in climate change, even sensitized or already activists, from all levels of education, mainly in youth organizations, sports clubs and associations, who could be potential young leaders.

YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 26 TO 35

whether they are committed young people, activists, or opinion leaders such as influencers, but also young parents or new consumers.

MULTIPLIERS

citizens who, by their position, their job, are in regular contact with young people, especially teachers, youth workers and journalists, and can act as information relays.

ACTED aims to ensure that:

1,1m
of young people

have a better understanding of climate change and its challenges

11,000
young leaders

are inspired and trained to become agents of change

1,200
youth

can develop ideas and take action to fight climate change

Three strands of action will be deployed: :

  • Communication: awareness campaign on climate change issues throughout France and at the European level, ongoing engagement with the media, creation of a digital application and the dissemination of two opinion polls to better understand the knowledge, expectations, and levers of commitment of French youth on this topic;

  • Events: participation in public events (festivals, World Convergence Forum, etc.), organization of university events and climate gatherings, with training and awareness workshops

  • Accompaniment: sharing of educational material, partnerships with universities, sponsorship of inspiring initiatives and the setting up of a grant system to finance the initiatives of six student associations and 30 teams of young footballers.

In order to support these actions, ACTED will also make the link with its projects carried out in Southern countries in favor of an inclusive and sustainable world, in accordance with the 3Zero approach: Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, Zero Poverty. Good practices and local initiatives will be shared to inform about climate issues around the world, to promote the proposed solutions, and to inspire local mobilizations. For this purpose, in the framework of a partnership with French journalism schools, ACTED will organize visits of these projects in Southern countries for student journalists.
