Government of Ireland

Irish Aid is the Irish Government’s official aid programme, working on behalf of Irish people to address poverty and hunger in some of the world’s poorest countries. We are a division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and our aid programme is an integral part of Ireland’s foreign policy.

We engage in and support development and provide humanitarian assistance . Our work has a particular focus on reducing poverty and hunger in sub-Saharan Africa.

We have long-term partnerships with nine key partner countries in Africa and Asia where we support the efforts of governments and communities to own and lead their own development.
