Comité interministériel d’aide alimentaire (CIAA)

The Interministerial Food Aid Committee (CIAA) is the decision-making body for France’s Programmed Food Aid. The CIAA ensures interministerial consultation for actions in favor of food security for vulnerable populations and the rehabilitation of production means. Thus, this body contributes to the implementation of the sectoral strategy of the Interministerial Committee on International Cooperation and Development in the areas of agriculture and food security. Its action is complementary to the Humanitarian Emergency Fund managed by the Crisis and Support Center (CDCS). Programmed food aid is allocated within the intervention framework defined by the Programming Law on Development Policy and International Solidarity (LODSI) and the London Convention on Food Assistance (2013) ratified by France in 2017.
