French cities regularly support ACTED projects in emergency, rehabilitation and development contexts, thus they are key partners in the ACTED's international solidarity mission.

In 2016, supported by the City of Paris, ACTED was able to provide assistance to 1,300 vulnerable families in the South and Grand’Anse regions of Haiti in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. The distribution of hygiene kits and chlorine tablets, as well as awareness raising activities on hygiene and cholera risk prevention, contributed significantly to limit the spread of disease and to broad improvements in hygiene levels among the affected populations. During its actions, ACTED has also  benefited from the commitment of the Communauté d’agglomération de la Rochelle that facilitated the rapid response to the hurricane.

In 2017, the City of Toulouse participated in a 6-month project in the village of Toshkivka in Ukraine to provide vital food and hygiene assistance to 95 conflict-affected households in the east of the country during the winter period.

More recently, the City of Eybens was a partner of a development project to promote French language and culture in Tajikistan.

In order to foster this cooperation, in October 2018  ACTED signed a framework agreement with the Associations des Maires de France (AMF) aimed at exchanging expertise and intelligence, while also encouraging the exploration of opportunities for future collaboration.
