Poverty, hunger missing education and inequality of chances concerning gender are still a part of many million people’s daily lives worldwide.

As part of a globally operating network comprised of 140 country offices, ADRA helps millions of people every year, independent of their political or religious position. Guided by the principle of “help to self-help“, ADRA assists them to lead a life of dignity in accordance with human rights.

In Germany the non-governmental organisation, which was acknowledged by the state, was founded by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1986 and became an registered association in 1987.
