Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur

The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region must be for all its citizens a republican community nourished by respect for the human person, solidarity and fraternity. As the main tool of decentralization, the Region is a territorial collectivity that carries the values of the Republic and its motto "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité".

The Provence-Alpes-Côte d' Azur Regional Council conducts a policy of international solidarity through humanitarian action.

The International Humanitarian Mission, as a service of the Regional Council, examines proposals for actions submitted by humanitarian project leaders to this institution. It can also intervene in direct project management or participate in operations undertaken by national or international bodies.

Its field of intervention concerns territories which, throughout the world, are affected by natural or man-made disasters or which are confronted with situations of extreme humanitarian gravity. These include, for example, combating extreme poverty and hunger, helping people deprived of access to basic necessities, providing support to populations affected by armed conflict, accompanying the major movements for the emancipation of peoples towards democracy and freedom, and participating in respect for human dignity and gender equality. In accordance with the European Consensus on Humanitarian Action, this Mission also contributes to better territorial preparedness for crisis management in the regional or cooperation territories.
