The Kenya Cash Consortium response to the drought crisis in the Arid and Semi-Arid Land (ASAL) Counties of Kenya

This intervention aims to provide lifesaving assistance to the most vulnerable populations and refugees affected by drought in the ASAL Counties after the failed October, 2021 short rains across the ASAL region where 99% of the population have reported depleted livelihood resources. This 7-month program will address the current drought faced in 5 counties, targeting 7,567 vulnerable drought affected household with 5 cycles of cash at a transfer rate of Marsabit: 9,084 KES (71.82 EUR) Mandera: 8,934 KES (70.63 EUR), Garissa: 6,984 KES (55.21 EUR), Wajir: 9.334 KES (73.79 EUR), and Turkana: 8.834 KES (69.84 EU).
