Support to greater resilience of the Sea of Azov region

Humanitarian Action
July 2020
May 2022

As the armed conflict in Ukraine enters its 8th year, the recovery of the Sea of Azov region (Kherson, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts) is still limited by impacts of the ongoing conflict in the area. This program aims to highlight key environmental, social and economic trends in the Sea of Azov region - with a focus on areas in proximity to the coastline. The program will seek to generate robust evidence of consequences of the conflict and trade restrictions on: i) the socio-economic situation within the region, ii) civic and psychosocial wellbeing at population level, and iii) environmental safety and monitoring. Implemented by ACTED, together with IMPACT Initiatives and Centre for Sustainable Peace and Democratic Development (SeeD), the action will also seek to strengthen civil society capacities in evidence-based programming, with a focus on the environmental aspect.
