Democratic Republic of the Congo

Support for humanitarian coordination through the strengthening of the resources of the national food security and MEA/shelter clusters

Democratic Republic of the Congo Emergencies and disaster resilience
June 2019
May 2020

This 12-month project focuses on building the capacity of two national clusters (Food Security and MEA/Shelters) and the Shelter Working Group by providing a co-facilitator for each of them as well as an information officer for the Food Security cluster and an information officer for the Shelter Working Group. Through this project, ACTED aims to improve coordination between cluster partners, facilitate their access to information and strengthen their capacity to implement relevant activities in the food security sector and essential household items/shelter, as well as to ensure close collaboration between organizations involved in humanitarian action. These people will participate in the implementation of key cluster functions, alongside the coordinators FAO/WFP (Food Security Cluster), UNICEF (MEA/Shelter Cluster) and UNHCR (Shelter Working Group). They will be in charge of facilitating the organization of cluster meetings and will participate in increasing the quality and capitalisation of methodological tools as well as their dissemination.
