Responding to shelter and WASH needs of returnees, conflict, and disaster affected populations, whilst increasing evidence based humanitarian programming in Afghanistan

Over a 18-month period, this action will provide Shelter and WASH support to 244,818 IDPs and returnees in Baghlan, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, Badakhshan, and Takhar provinces. ACTED will provide 764 transitional two-room shelters and latrines, distribute 550 hygiene kits and conduct DRR trainings to conflict and disaster IDPs and returnee beneficiaries. Additionally, ACTED will rehabilitate and construct 877 water supply infrastructures. Lastly, REACH will undertake a Whole of Afghanistan Assessment (WoAA) Multi-Sector Needs Assessment (MSNA), to provide comprehensive, quantifiable data for all relevant population groups and provinces throughout Afghanistan and inform the 2020 Humanitarian Needs Overview/Humanitarian Response Plan (HNO/HRP) process.
