July 2020

This 1 year project will be centered around the implementation of WASH and Shelter infrastructure rehabilitations in a total of 4 at-risk public schools in Beirut Mount Lebanon governorate in order to meet the minimum WASH and shelter standards in terms of quantity, quality, safety, hygiene, functionality, and efficiency of their water supply and sanitation facilities. The works will also focus on the ability of these schools to equally cater to the needs of girls, boys, men, women, and persons with special needs’. The project will also promote a water saving system (rainwater catchment and low-flow taps as a water saving measure) in 1 of the 4 schools in order to ensure enhanced long term supply for students. The number of final direct beneficiaries is equal to 1,299 individuals, and is comprised of students attending the 4 targeted schools, in addition to the school staff (i.e. teachers).
