Regenerative Earthworks & Vegetation in Vulnerable Ecosystems (REVIVE) in Somaliland

Somalia Sustainable and inclusive growth
June 2019
March 2020

ACTED will implement a regenerative earthworks and vegetation in vulnerable ecosystems (REVIVE) pilot in Magalo Cad, western Somaliland from June 2019 until March 2020. The effects of climate change and over-grazing pose a risk to those communities in Somaliland who are reliant on livestock to survive. ACTED will engage with 858 agro-pastoralists households in the area to expose them to regenerative agriculture through farmer field schools and practical tasks in regenerating land, as well as establish soil and water conservation systems, restore the biodiversity of the vegetation and create a field school experimenting with holistic rangeland management.
