Ukraine Emergencies and disaster resilience
August 2019
July 2021

This 24-month project aims to improve understanding of, and promote and take measures towards preparedness to disaster risk in conflict-affected, government controlled, areas of Eastern Ukraine. Implemented by an ACTED-led consortium (including IMPACT), it targets 150,000 individuals (including 6,000 IDPs) and 22 organizations – the intervention focuses on reducing vulnerability to disaster risk. With the aim to promote sound disaster risk management in Ukraine, key outputs will include multi-hazard analyses, mitigation/response and community emergency plans, trainings for communities and local authorities, water safety plans and rehabilitation works, and the facilitation of coordination between humanitarians, development actors and local authorities.
