Reducing Disaster Risk Vulnerability in Eastern Ukraine – Phase II

Strengthening Institutions and Civil Society
March 2021
August 2022

This 18-month project will seek to improve understanding, preparedness, and resilience to industrial/ecological risks and health response capacity in government-controlled areas (GCA) along the Line of Contact.

Implemented by an ACTED-led consortium (including IMPACT and WHO), and benefitting 180,000 individuals and 45 organizations, the intervention aims to reduce risk vulnerabilities and increase health response capacities.

Together, partners will:

a) identify ecological/industrial risks;
b) develop and update local plans and support their implementation;
c) develop multi-hazard health risk assessments and contingency plans;
d) increase community resilience, preparedness, and capacity to cope with risk;
e) advocate for policy change and investments in DRR.
