Providing multi-sectoral assistance to refugee camps in Maban county

South Sudan Humanitarian Action
January 2022
December 2022

The project follows a multi-sectoral and cost-effective approach to improve refugee population’s access to basic life-saving services in Doro, Yusuf Batil, Gendrassa, and Kaya refugee camps in Maban county, Upper Nile State. As a camp manager, ACTED will strengthen the camp management activities in the four locations through a participatory approach rooted in strong involvement of local leadership and community engagement, active partner coordination and timely information sharing. ACTED will also distribute core relief items to vulnerable populations and assist the most at risk with access to shelter. ACTED will also continue to provide and maintain access to safe water,  for the entire populations of the four camps in Maban at the UNHCR standard of at least 20 litres per person per day,  conduct hygiene promotion and provide sanitation services through construction and decommissioning of sanitation facilities  utilizing community based approach.
