The five-month project entitled ‘Promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in Uzbekistan through the organization of a Gender Equality Week’ will promote gender mainstreaming through a participatory and multi-stakeholder approach, to bring together various stakeholders at the national and international level and raise awareness on gender equality and gender-based violence in Uzbekistan.

The project will be implemented in Tashkent, targeting women and girls, local CSOs, government agencies and ministries through awareness campaigns and the facilitation of a ‘Gender Week’, to reach a broader audience in addressing gender inequalities and gender stereotypes in Uzbek society.
