Promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy production in the community-based tourism sector in Central Asia

This three-year project will contribute to the reduction of carbon footprint in community-based tourism (CBT) industry in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The direct beneficiaries of the project include at least 120 MSMEs in the green energy sector, at least 315 CBT service providers, governmental institutions, local authorities and government-sponsored entities. The intervention will support MSMEs in the renewable energy (RE), energy efficiency (EE) and CBT sectors in their adoption of sustainable consumption practices (SCP) and will promote access to finance. Additionally, the project will create an enabling environment to strengthen SCP in the RE, EE and CBT sectors in Central Asia.
