Localized Multi-Hazard Anticipatory Action Facility Pakistan

WHH Pakistan will be implementing a project to assist flood-affected communities in Sanghar District, Sindh, in collaboration with ACTED. The aim is to provide Emergency Relief and Early Recovery Support to 5,229 Individuals. This includes provision of 320 winterization kits to the most flood-affected families benefitting 2240 members of the extremely vulnerable households survive the harsh winters.
Many people have lost their livelihoods in Sanghar, leaving them unable to meet their basic needs. At the same time, the floods have caused immense damage to local infrastructure. Cash for Work activities designed to be implemented in this project have a two-fold impact; firstly, providing temporary employment opportunities to men and women from 402 HHs (benefitting 2,989 Individuals) giving them a source of income to meet their basic needs for 3 months; secondly providing them with paid work opportunities to work towards the rehabilitation of the communal infrastructure benefitting the whole community. To the 25 extremely vulnerable HHs, ACTED will be providing Multi-purpose cash to help 175 Individuals in meeting their critical needs. The implementation of the entire project will be done by local partner organization SAMI Foundation.
