Republic of the Congo Emergencies and disaster resilience
June 2019
November 2020

The proposed intervention aims at providing multisector relief to vulnerable households IDPs/returnees affected by the Pool crisis in the Pool department. The crisis, caused by fighting between the Ninjas Nsiloulou armed group and the governmental armed forces in the Pool Department from April 2016 to December 2017, has left no one unaffected (more than 90% of the population has been forced to move at some point in this area) and has still ongoing consequences.

The project will respond to the needs of 24,000 returnees/IDPs through the provision of an emergency access to Shelter restoration items, Water and sanitation infrastructures and Agricultural and Food Security sensitizations to address their immediate needs and improve their early recovery capacities. The project will be implemented in the districts of Mindouli, Kindamba, Kimba, Vindza and Mayama (Pool Department) in Congo Brazzaville.
