Empowering vulnerable youth and enhancing agency towards greater economic resilience and inter-communal collaboration and coordination in Rakhine State

This one-year project seeks to strengthen grassroots economic resilience and positive inter-communal engagement in Kyauktaw, Pauktaw, and Sittwe Townships in Rakhine state. In response to persistent issues of inter-communal tension and conflict along with deteriorating economic and social dynamics as a direct result of the COVID-19 outbreak of 2020, the project aims to empower vulnerable youths through representation, inter-communal dialogue, and skills development support for economic entrance. It supports local authorities’ capacity development and provide cash assistance namely 10 small grants up to 2,000 USD for youths with top business development plan and 20 selected MSMEs with small grants (average $250 each) as a stimulus for economic recovery. Overall, the intervention will benefit 356 individuals.
