Emergency Response for Internal Displaced Populations in Armenia

Armenia Humanitarian Action
September 2022
November 2022

Following a large-scale attack by the Azerbaijani military forces, this 1,5-month project aims at providing an emergency response to the needs of IDPs and affected population in Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions. The action will be tailored to specific needs of the most vulnerable groups, like children, the elderly and disabled people. The distribution of multi-purpose vouchers to 2000 IDPs will allow them to cover their basic needs, while ensuring flexibility of choice. Additionally, NFI kits, baby kits and first aid kits will be distributed to households remaining in affected remote communities, who face restricted access to supermarkets. Psychosocial support will reach a minimum of 1500 vulnerable IDPs or resident of affected border areas, through a network of social workers. To provide holistic and integrated support, the action will aim to cover gaps in access to protection services for vulnerable groups at community level.
