This 6-month project, funded by the Crisis and Support Centre to the tune of 300,000 euros, aims to strengthen food security and access to water for displaced households in Gueskérou and Kablewa, by relying on effective and efficient humanitarian coordination for vulnerable populations.

Through CCCM-type activities that will frame WASH and livelihoods activities, the action proposes not only to provide direct and urgent support to the most vulnerable populations but also to support the response through improved needs analysis, particularly in terms of protection and displacement, to ensure that humanitarian principles guiding returns are taken into account, and to pave the way for sustainable solutions.

The proposed action will strengthen i) access to WASH services for the affected population by supporting 285 households through the rehabilitation of water facilities and latrines, as well as the distribution of hygiene kits and awareness raising on good hygiene practices; ii) access to livelihoods and thus food security for 200 vulnerable households by proposing to support and strengthen existing IGAs and by proposing cash-for-work distributions; iii) while supporting the coordination of the crisis response and ensuring and strengthening the protective environment for 849 displaced households.
