The DDF is designed as a successor program to the “Stabilization Program Northern Afghanistan SPNA “The intervention aims to support infrastructure needs of communities in Takhar and Kunduz provinces to improve the quality of life of the people. The program also contribute to improve community services by building resilient and sustainable cities and communities by promoting stability, and the trust of the population, enhance capacity and strengthen the collaboration between the institutions within the sub‐national governance system.

Current projects

Provision of heating assistance, blankets and winter clothing packages to 1,591 conflict affected displaced, natural disasters affected and vulnerable host community households
Life-saving response to earthquake in Afghanistan
Safeguard and Create Artisan Livelihoods and Enterprises for Underserved Populations in Afghanistan (SCALE-UP AFGHANs)
Holistic and multisectoral emergency response, using Settlement Approach, for the population living in and around informal settlements in North, West and Eastern Afghanistan
Provision of emergency food assistance to IPC Phase 3 and 4 populations in Nuristan Province, in Mandol, Nurgaram, Parun, Wama and Waygal districts
Services to support the Implementation of FAO’s emergency and resilience project to support vulnerable Smallholder communities and farmers through Emergency Food Security Project
Cash for Education for 9,031 households in Nuristan province
Provision of Consultancy Services under Afghanistan Community Resilience and Livelihoods Project
CCCM Multi-sectorial Service Provision and Coordination in ISETs in Mazar-e-Sharif and Jalalabad
Services to support the implementation of FAO’s emergency and resilience response project aimed to support vulnerable drought affected smallholder farmers
Provision of integrated humanitarian assistance, including WASH, Education, and child protection services to the most vulnerable populations including extremely vulnerable children (and their families) in NR
Consolidation and expansion of community-based education (CBE) in Afghanistan
Enhancing access to education for Out-of-School children in Afghanistan and supporting evidence-driven cash responses in Afghanistan through REACH
