The project aims to strengthen the impact of nutritional care for children under 5 in Mbomou and Basse Kotto prefectures through the implementation of a multisectoral approach, the Wash in Nut, as well as the planned EHA activities aimed at full complementarity and integration with Nutrition interventions in the area. 2 645 people will be direct beneficiaries of the project during the implementation period (7 months).

This project is divided into two parts:

1. Strengthening institutional capacities for the management of SAM

  • Training nutrition professionals in EHA practice
  • Rehabilitation of EHA infrastructure
  • Distribution of EHA supply kits to health facilities (health facilities and mobile clinics)
  • Provision of kits to patients with SAM

2. Strengthening EHA infrastructure and practices at community and household levels in the care of malnourished children

  • Mobilization, community consultation and promotion of hygiene practices
  • Construction and rehabilitation of EHA infrastructure in communities affected by MAS
  • Creation and formation of EHA Infrastructure Management and Maintenance Committees
  • Support for mother/child couples in the management of SAM
