Access to education for COVID-19 emergency affected children in Faryab province in Afghanistan

This 13-month project in Faryab province, Afghanistan will provide 21,000 children with Grade 1 and/or Grade 2 Community-Based Education (CBE) through material support for 700 CBE classes; training, support and income for 700 teachers; and training for school management shuras (SMS). Additionally, each CBE will receive targeted WASH support to ensure good hygiene practices and to respond to and mitigate against continued spread of COVID-19.

ACTED will also continue to pilot the sustainable operation model of collaborating with existing bodies at community level to collect annual fees to fund teachers’ salaries and ensure the CBCs operation long-term.
