    DRC: Evaluation of the humanitarian needs in the Shabunda Territory, South Kivu - An ACTED team has just finished a 14 days multi-sectoral evaluation mission in the Shabunda Territory to identify the activities to be implemented in this vast area of 25,216 square kilometres and 750,000 inhabitants. The humanitarian objective is firstly to respond to the identified vital needs and then to set up a market-prone dynamic between Maniema and South Kivu in emphasising the Congo River as a market link. The Shabunda Territory, secluded between 1996 and 2009, suffers from a lack of road, social and drinking water infrastructure as well as from food insecurity.
