Consolidation of the Livelihoods Recovery Programme on Nias
This 20-month project will support the same 5,018 families beneficiaries of the first phase of the project. To increase the sustainability of populations, Self Helped Groups (SHG) will be set up and trained. SHG will also benefit from technical assistance to open bank accounts, to meet financial stakeholders, to elect income generating activities and to write business plans. Trainers will be trained on business practices as well as on management and marketing. 15 marine carpenters’ families will benefit of a five-month training programm. 26 boats will be constructed and distributed to fisheries benefiting to 579 families. 26 head of villages and 175 local authorities will follow sessions on community mobilization and institutional organization techniques.
