‘You’re the Man!’ Season 3 continues to address negative gender stereotypes
PHNOM PENH [ACTED News] – Taking an innovative approach to public education, the USAID-funded ‘You’re the Man!’ (YTM) program, of which ACTED-PSF is an implementing partner, launched an eponymous reality television show 2 years ago. The premise: ordinary Cambodian men compete in extreme challenges to be crowned ‘a modern Cambodian hero’. Unlike other reality shows, YTM comes with a serious objective - challenging gender stereotypes that contribute to the spread of HIV. Now into season 3, this year’s focus is binge drinking and the poor decision making it promotes. With the past two seasons having proved extremely popular, YTM season 3 is sure to continue to prove an effective tool in challenging negative attitudes and behaviours.
