Supporting the emergence and development of civil society in Libya
National NGOs in Libya were created in a context of internal conflict and as an answer to the humanitarian crisis. This network is enthusiastic but fragile. This two-year project’s main objective is to strengthen the capacity of approximately 300 members from up to 100 emerging Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and to deliver services and to contribute to promoting good governance in Libya. In order to achieve this, the project will promote the best practices of participatory local planning by contributing to establishing cooperation and accountability channels between local authorities and their constituencies. Other activities include the promotion of regional cooperation and facilitation of linkages with regional and European CSOs and relevant institutions.
