Strengthening capacity building and supporting training centers in Myanmar

In collaboration with Schneider Electric Overseas Asia Pte Ltd Myanmar Branch (SEOAMM) and the Fondation de France, ACTED worked with local education partners to support the development of technical skills in Myanmar in the field of energy management. The goal of this project was to work with local education partners to train unemployed Myanmar youth and industrial workers in the field of electrical energy and assist them in upgrading their skills to find better job opportunities. This project supported three vocational training centers in Yangon Region and Kayah State to train unemployed youth as electricians and set up laboratories in two technical universities to enhance the technical and practical skill sets of young engineering students. This project also supported the training of trainers, in order to promote improved education in electrician technical training and to promote the sustainability and durability of the courses offered. Schneider Electric was an essential partner for this program, providing the necessary kits and training of trainers to support this electrical training course.
