Sri Lanka : Grassroots development maps released to aid in community development planning

MULLAITIVU [ACTED News] - Grassroots planning maps were released by ACTED in August for fifteen communities within the Maritimepattu division of Mullaitivu district in Northern Sri Lanka as part of an ongoing Europaid project. The maps are designed to provide details on demographics, housing conditions, available public services, and distribution of available natural and agricultural resources for each village in order to identify any gaps. Moreover, these maps can be used by local development officials and the community as a useful visual aid for planning future development projects. A copy of the map will be included with each village’s grassroots development plan. The maps are available here.
