Rehabilitation of the Kalemie-Kabimba road section

In order to respond to accessibility issues to displacement sites on the Kalemie-Kabimba road section, this 7-month project aims at facilitating the interventions of humanitarian actors in Kabubili, Kabembe and Kabimba displacement sites. Activities include the construction and/or rehabilitation of hydraulic infrastructure, and the setup of local maintenance committees to ensure the sustainability of the project. A total of 187,973 people (including 18,935 displaced) will directly and indirectly benefit from the improvement of humanitarian access, and so will the entire humanitarian community operating in the area. Vulnerable household leaders’ income will improve through daily work on the infrastructure, thus contributing to the area’s economic recovery.
