Recovery of Sustainable Fishing practices in Nias

This two month long project aims at rehabilitating the fishing industry in 14 villages in Lahewa and Afulu sub-Districts, Nias. It will provide 100 sets of fishing equipment, to be paired with 100 fishing boats to be distributed to Nias fishermen in need of asset replacement. It will as well provide additional construction tools to 38 marine carpenters. In the framework of this Caritas Italy and Canadian Red Cross-funded project, 500 fishermen families will thus benefit from those activities.
