Provision of Child Protection Support in KRG (Kurdistan Regional Government): Erbil, Dohuk and Sulaymaniyah Governorates and Southern Iraq: Muthanna and Qadissiyah Governorates
This 9-month project implemented in KRG (northern Iraq) and in southern Iraq aims at improving prevention and response strategies to children problems (violence, abuses, difficult familial and social context…) and improving child protection and support services in vulnerable communities. The second goal is to develop and implement community based mechanisms for monitoring, reporting and responding to child rights violations. ACTED will Conduct 10 GBV (gender based violence) Awareness and Prevention Workshops (400 persons), 20 Children’s Rights Awareness Workshops, will establish 9 Child Protection Committees, 9 CFSs (Child and Family Services) and will do child protection assessment and monitoring and mapping referral services for children and women affected by violence. This project will directly benefit to 4,805 children, youth and women (2,750 in KRG and 2,055 in southern Iraq).
