Participatory action to Mitigate Cross-Border Tensions in Batken oblast

This 11-month project aims at addressing the root causes of socio-economic inter- and intra-community conflicts and instability in 4 selected villages of Sumbula ayil okmotu (municipality) in the remote district of Leylek located in Batken oblast (region) in the south of Kyrgyzstan. Over the course of the project, ACTED will support 3,222 households living in the targeted communities through the establishment of Community Management boards, designing of Cross-Border Community Development Plans and implementation of 4 infrastructure projects. In addition, ACTED will provide training for 40 farmers on water use-efficiency techniques and financial literacy and directly support development of off-farm business opportunities with mini-grants.
