Pakistan: ACTED helps to prepare flood affected communities for the onset of winter

ISLAMABAD [ACTED News] - Winter has arrived early in Pakistan this year, potentially putting flood affected communities in Sindh at further risk. Over a quarter of a million people remain in relief camps and almost half a million are trying to cope, following the destruction of their homes. In order to respond to this situation, ACTED teams have planned their interventions to include both winterization items, such as blankets, and are mobilised with a priority given to providing shelter to those living in the open air. With the humanitarian response limited by funding constraints, the coming few months will remain a trying time for the flood-affected communities. ACTED intends to continue supporting communities during this time and in the future as they move into the early recovery stage.
