Multi sectoral emergency assistance to IDPs and host populations in Iraq (extension)

This eight month extension to the OFDA-funded project, which started in September 2008, will consist of a multi sectoral approach in Muthanna, Wassit and Thi-Qar, Iraq. It will provide immediate and alternative sources of income to IDP and vulnerable households to support economic recovery and market systems. It will address urgent non-food needs of vulnerable IDP and host populations. Regarding shelters and settlements, it will improve the housing conditions of IDP and vulnerable households. Finally, in regards to water, sanitation and hygiene, it will improve hygiene practices and sanitation facilities. This project will benefit to approximately 36,165 individuals, of which 23,238 are IDPs.
