Livelihoods support to women returnees and host communities
This 4-month income-generating project consists in providing vocational training in wool spinning to 200 returnee and local women in Mahajeer Qishlaq village of Sholgara district (Balkh province), which will enable them to contribute to their families’ income in the long term. They will be provided with 30 kilograms of raw wool for training purposes and a complete wool spinning kit consisting of the spinning wheel, a basket, a chair, a comb and a mask. The training will also include repair and maintenance of the wheel. The kit will remain with the trainees at the end of the project as their tool to generate future income. Near the end of the project, an additional 200 women will be provided with the spinning wheel kit and a training supply of 15 kg of wool. The total number of kits will thus cover the majority of households in the village.
