Lifesaving assistance to older people and PWDs in Warrap State, South Sudan

As South Sudan faces humanitarian crisis with socio-economic, political and environmental dimensions, underscored by long-term violent conflict, Tonj South-Warrap state economic and political climate is underscored by prolonged drought and persistent flooding and animal diseases which would have supported the livelihoods of the people. The state is classified under IPC 2 and is expected to rise to IPC3 and IPC 4 by July. This 5 months consortium project between ACTED and HelpAge International will target 700 older households from 60years and above in Tonj. Activities included; Cash Distribution based on health and physical status, household condition, responsibility for un-accompanied children, family structure and support mechanisms. This aimed at providing lifesaving assistance to older people and People With Disabilities in Warrap state, South Sudan.
