Libya: Training Center inaugurated to develop Libyan NGOs
TRIPOLI [ACTED News] - The Civil Initiatives Libya (CIL) Tripoli Training Centre was inaugurated on 26th June by the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Mr. Peter Zsoldos. The training centre – a 2 year project implemented by ACTED along with CESVI and People in Need - provides national and international civil society organizations (CSOs) and NGOs a space to more efficiently carry out their operations. It includes access to an equipped office space, training rooms, individual coaching & advisory services, and a documentation centre. At the inauguration, Mr. Zsoldos drew on the experiences of civil society in his home country, Slovakia, and emphasised the importance of resources like the Tripoli training centre in facilitating the development of civil society organisations. Over 100 representatives of local CSOs and NGOs, international organizations, embassies, and the media attended the inauguration. In the coming weeks the EU Ambassador will be inaugurating CIL Training Centers in Misrata, Benghazi, and Sabha.
