LEADERS - Promoting inclusive local economic empowerment and development to enhance resilience and social stability

This 18-month project aims at contributing to the economic self-reliance, resilience and social stability of displacement-affected populations in Jordan and Lebanon to prepare for durable solutions. In Jordan, it focuses on vulnerable and over-burdened host communities in 4 municipalities (Irbid, Mafraq and Zarqa governorates), targeting economically vulnerable Jordanian individuals and households and marginalized Syrian refugees and households (130,000 direct beneficiaries, and 350 indirect beneficiaries). The project will improve the economic enabling environment and service delivery in communities hosting refugees by: improving collective problem-solving, building on participatory planning processes (i.e. dialogue tables); and increasing investment in social and economic development priorities at the local level.
