Integrated emergency response and protection assistance to conflict affected populations in Libya

DRC and ACTED have established a consortium to provide assistance to an estimated 16,140 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), returnees, host communities across the country aimed at improving the availability and access to safe and dignified protection and basic needs services for the most vulnerable population in the east, west and south of Libya. The project will span twelve months (April 2017- March 2018) and assistance from ACTED will focus in Benghazi with an additional rapid response capacity to reach other vulnerable populations when needed. Activities include a rapid response mechanism with unconditional cash assistance (roughly 690 households), protection monitoring and referral to service providers, establishment of hotline and referral to service providers, service provision either through cash or item procurement for individual families (roughly 100 beneficiary households), and monthly protection monitoring reports (REACH).
